Big Baby Dean's NFL PickSlip Week 1

4* Kansas City @ New England (-15.5) 1pm
All over NE in this one. How can YOU not be? Yes, they looked like crap in the preseason and are coming off a SB loss. But, they still have the best QB/WR combo and are going against one of the worst teams in the league. They are also playing at Gillette today. Bill Bellicheat will outcoach Herm Edwards bigtime in this game. With all the smack talk going on against the Patriots this preseason, I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats ran up the score in this one. Pick: New England (-15.5)
Fantasy Start'em - Brady, Moss, Maroney, Larry Johnson, Tony Gonzalez, Dwayne Bowe

2* Cincinnati @ Baltimore (+2) 1pm
Here is my UPSET special of the week. This is a huge rivalry game and Baltimore still has its defense. I don't trust the Bengals rushing attack and I think they will start to tee-off on Palmer. On Baltimore's offensive side of the ball, your guess is as good as mine. Lets hope Flacco can impersonate a professional QB this week and hopefully not make many mistakes and let the running game and defense do the work. Pick: Baltimore (+2)
Fantasy Start'em - Carson Palmer, Tj Houshmenzadah, Chad Ocho Cinco, McGahee, Heap, Derrick Mason, Baltimore Defense

2* Detroit @ Atlanta (Over 41) 1pm
I don't like both defenses in this game and the game is in the Georgia dome, so weather cannot be an issue. Kitna will look for Roy and Calvin all day. I think Atlanta will put up a decent amount of points this game too. Their running game with Michael Turner will be a big improvement from last year. Pick: Det/Atl (Over 41)
Fantasy Start'em - Kitna, Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson, Kevin Smith, Michael Turner, Roddy White

1* NY Jets @ Miami (+3) 1pm
Did you know that the last seven teams to finish 1-15 all won their season opener the following year? And that all of them did it as underdogs? Yeah, it's true. The Carolina Panthers were the last team to do it. They went 1-15 during the 2001 season and then in Week 1 of the 2002 regular season they opened at home as underdogs to Baltimore and won the game straight up, 10-7. Also in this game you have Pennington going for revenge against the NY Jets. Pick: Miami (+3)
Fantasy Start'em - Favre, Thomas Jones, Jericho Cotchery, Ricky Williams, Ronnie Brown, Ted Ginn Jr

1* Jacksonville @ Tennessee (+3) 1pm
I loved Jacksonville last year, but this year something has changed. I feel they have taken some steps back and almost became the new Bengals with all of their player arrests in the offseason. Also, one of their top rookies, did not sign a contract til about a week ago. Jeff Fisher knows how to play the Jaguars and should be a good battle. Take the points in this game. Pick: Tennessee (+3)
Fantasy Start'em - Jones-Drew, Fred Taylor, Garrard, Marcedes Lewis, Chris Johnson, Lendale White, Vince Young

1* Arizona (-2.5) @ San Francisco 4:15pm
Arizona is my pick to win the West division this year and I think they get started on the right side by beating San Francisco on the road. It should be a close game, but I think Arizona will win by at least a FG.
Pick: Arizona (-2.5)

Fantasy Start'em - Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Kurt Warner, Frank Gore, Edgerin James
