BIG BABY DEAN'S PICK SLIP

4* Miami (-3) @ Duke 330pm

Recently Miami has been playing a lot of teams close. In this game Miami will shut down the run game and make Duke one dimensional by passing the ball. This will be a field position game early on but I feel Miami's run game will wear down a young Duke team. Miami will get its first win in the ACC this year over the Blue Devils. Pick: 4* Miami (-3)

3* UNC @ Virginia (+4.5) 330PM

Where did Virginia come from this year? They have surprised me as I thought they would be the ACC doormats along with DUke this year. They are on a roll and I'll take them here as a home dog over the Tar Heels who are coming off a hard fought game against Notre Dame. UNC will be without WR Brandon Tate who has been a reason for their early success. The North Carolina defense will come to play and keep this game close. Pick: 3* Virginia (+4.5)

3* Virginia Tech (+3) @ Boston College 800pm

These teams always keep it close. I look for it to be a big defensive battle with lots of special teams. Special teams advantage goes to Virginia Tech. Looking for BC's kicker to miss some key FGs in this game once Va Tech's defense stifles the Eagle offense. Virginia Tech will not have it easy on offense either. Tyrod Taylor is in his first year starting and will be under pressure all game from the BC defense. Va Tech is on a roll now and BC will not stop them.Pick: 3* Virginia Tech (+3)

4* Missouri @ Texas (-4) 800pm

If this game were played last week, I would be on Chase Daniel and the Missouri Tigers. But after the Texas performance in the Red River Shootout last week over Oklahoma, what can I say....I'm impressed. Hopefully they will not let me down. This game will also be a back and forth game with a lot of points on the board. Texas will win this game and be #1 in the first week of the 2008 BCS standings.Pick: 4* Texas (-4)

3* California @ Arizona (+2.5) 1000PM

Arizona is looking good this year and it is due to Willy Tuitama, Nic Grigsby and the veteran Wildcat team. In years past, this spread would have been double digits..even in Tucson. Well even the oddsmakers know Arizona is not the doormat they used to be. They are legit this year and will take it to the California Bears.Pick: 3* Arizona (+2.5)
